AnItalian media scholar raised on American TV assesses Netflix's ambitious strategy to create original productions in Italy, Japan, Brazil and beyond - and distribute them globally.

Wedon't here about that as often because, for some reason, people watching TV seem to prefer having subtitles on whether it includes a foreign language or not, but those who still watch movies without words on the screen are really confused why so much of their French Dispatch purchase is in untranslated French.
Imo the worse thing netflix does is not including English subtitles on foreign media when you're watching with subs. For example, DARK is German and Squid Game is Korean and both of them have small parts where the characters speak English. If you choose English subs, they will not subtitle the English-spoken parts for some bizarre reason.
Thereis a kids show called Pingu, where all the characters speak gibberish. Netflix forces on the CC English subtitles (because there is no English soundtrack, or soundtrack in any language); but the CC subtitles try to describe the gibberish sounds, which is truely bizarre given the show is entirely visual.
Ithought I should also mention that almost every TED-talk is subtitled in its entirety in about 30-40 languages, and probably just about every language that is commonly learned as a foreign language by users of this sub-reddit. Turning on the subtitles and trying to read them as the speaker talks can be an interesting challenge.
Its not a site that focuses on Slovenian language subtitles, however. The site itself is all in English, and there are subs in more than 100 different languages, with over 60,000 movies, and

Openthe Netflix Homepage on your Smart TV and expand the side menu with your remote. From the side menu, go to your profile and select " Edit Profile ". Navigate the options and select the

Clickthe "Language" drop-down menu, select the language to which you want to change your profile, and then click "Save." You're returned to the profile selection screen. Click "Done" to confirm your changes. The language Netflix displays in that profile will now be the one you selected.
